The Obama Crackdown on the Jewish Media Begins

Call it Scenes from the Obama Revolution Part 2. It's happening quietly and under the radar but there is a pattern to it is a bit similar for it to be completely random. Editors and staff working for local Jewish papers that have run articles critical of Obama have been receiving hostile phone calls.

While critical phone calls are not unusual when you're working on a newspaper, these phone calls are not from random readers, they are coming from lawyers and sometimes doctors who wield influence in the community and may often be advertisers. Typical talking points for these phone calls typically warn against running any further critical articles of Obama "now that he is President", emphasize that most Jews voted for Obama and emphasize that "we must unite behind him" or there may be "consequences to our community."

The phone calls are conducted with a brashness and rudeness that smack of Rahm Emanuel. A not atypical closing section from a phone call received by the editor of a Jewish newspaper not too far away from Obama's home base ran like this.
Caller: Who the hell does he think is writing things like this about Obama?

Editor: He is a respected journalist who is a Holocaust survivor and has been appearing with us for many years.

Caller: As far as I'm concerned he's garbage! You can't run any articles by him again, not until he moderates his position.

Editor: This is a free country, you can have your opinion and he can have his opinion.

Caller: No he can't!
The objectionable article was a fairly mild piece that pointed out Obama's lack of experience. The caller was not some random reader, but a fairly influential local figure. One or two such incidents could be put down to random moonbattery trickling up, but I'm hearing of more and more similar phone calls. And I'm seeing more and more Jewish papers that had formerly criticized Obama "moderating" their position.

To what extent is this an orchestrated campaign to silence opposition in Jewish newspapers, those that at any point did oppose Obama, there is no way to know. But the outcome can nevertheless be seen on many editorial pages, and with Carter talking about Obama's plan to tackle the middle east early on, it can be seen as clearing the decks and intimidating the Jewish press at large into remaining silent.

All this makes the function of the Jewish blogsphere all the more vital in the months ahead, to maintain our function as a voice of opposition to Obama's Pro-Hamas and Pro-terrorist policies. Hamas has already admitted that Obama's advisors were meeting with them, and there will no doubt be much worse revelations to come.

This situation is not unique to the Jewish community. The Cuban community will likely find itself similarly intimidated in preparation for Obama's coming change of policy on Cuba. Israel may top the list of free countries that Obama intends to stab in the back on behalf of his pro-terrorist policies, but Columbia is on the list, and the list includes what's left of the free world.

But the Jewish community's influence in American politics is an obstacle for Obama. The Obama junta's approach to dealing with that, has been to maintain the illusion of a Jewish consensus backed by the widely circulated phony high 70's figure of Jewish votes for Obama. This is being followed by a quiet campaign of intimidation intended to silence anyone who isn't on board. Dissidents will be branded as "racists" with stories already running on this theme and numerous more set to go.

The way is being cleared for Obama to take power and begin the destruction of Israel. Silence only serves his agenda. Blogs have an independence that the print media does not have. We don't have advertisers that we answer to or community organizations whose cooperation we need. We are not owned by families with vested business interests. We can speak out and join our voices together against the growing night.

The Cowardly Character Assassination of Sarah Palin

By Michelle Malkin

Sunken ships loosen bitter lips. The failed McCain campaign, for all its high-minded talk of honor, duty and courage, is now teeming with unscrupulous gossipmongers. Seems the dishy staffers forgot to crack open their copies of Sen. McCain's bestseller, "Character Is Destiny: Inspiring Stories Every Young Person Should Know and Every Adult Should Remember."

Rest assured: Their cowardly character assassination of Sarah Palin won't be forgotten.

The finks turned to Newsweek and Fox News to spread petty rumors about Palin's intellect and character. The magazine peddled anecdotes from sources horrified that Palin greeted top advisers at her hotel room -- gasp! -- "wearing nothing but a towel" and "wet hair." Fox News reporter Carl Cameron breathlessly reported that his unnamed McCain sources told him Palin lacked "a degree of knowledgeability necessary to be a running mate" because, they claimed, she didn't know which countries were parties to the North American Free Trade Agreement and "didn't understand that Africa was a continent, rather than a series, a country just in itself."

Let's assume for a moment that the McCain rumormongers are telling the truth about Palin (and I don't believe they are). Who would it damn more: Palin, or McCain and his vetters, who greenlighted her for the vice presidential nomination? Don't need a fancy Ivy League degree to figure that one out.

In introducing her to America, McCain praised her independence and backbone: She "stands up for what's right, and she doesn't let anyone tell her to sit down." The inside snipers are now roasting her for that very attribute -- redefined as "going rogue" -- because she had the nerve to try to schedule media interviews on her own. The nerve of her!

Palin's response to the campaign fragging? At a late Wednesday night airport press conference in Anchorage, immediately upon landing home after the election defeat, she smiled cheerfully. The Alaska governor shrugged off the "foolish things" said by the McCain saboteurs, and simply said, "It's politics. … It's rough and tumble and you've got to have a thick skin just like I've got."

Hollywood savaged Palin. Journalists mocked her. Liberal blogs slimed her. Opponents cursed her, Photoshopped her, hacked her e-mail, hanged her in effigy, called her bigot, Bible-thumper and bimbo, and attacked her husband and children. But nothing Palin endured during the election season compares to the treatment she's receiving from these backstabbing blabbermouths who worked on the same campaign she poured herself into over the last three months.

Sarah Palin worked her heart out. She energized tens of thousands to come out when they would have otherwise stayed home. She touched countless families. I didn't agree with everything she said on the campaign trail. But she vigorously defended the Second Amendment and the sanctity of life more eloquently in practice than any of the educated conservative aristocracy. And she did it all with a tirelessness and an infectious optimism that defied the shameless, bottomless attempts by elites in both parties to bring her and her family down.

Liberty needs a virtuous people to survive; self-governance requires virtuous leaders. "Knowledgeability" is a necessary trait in political life, but it is not sufficient. The elitist critics of Palin, so blindly enamored of Barack Obama's ability to hold forth for hours on theologian Reinhold Niebuhr, ignored the Founding Fathers' counsel: Character counts. In times of adversity and crisis, it counts more than IQ points, instant trivia recall and bloviation skills.

"The most important thing I have learned, from my parents, from teachers, from my faith, from many good people I have been blessed to know, and from the lives of people whose stories we have included in this book," John McCain wrote in "Character Is Destiny," "is to want what they had, integrity, and to feel the sting of my conscience when I have risked it for some selfish reason."

John McCain not only failed to make that message stick with the electorate, he apparently couldn't persuade his own staff to heed his advice and practice what he preached.

Palin on Ahmadinejad: 'He Must Be Stopped'

Governor Palin, the Republican nominee for vice president, was scheduled to speak today at a rally in Dag Hammarskjold Plaza to protest the appearance here of President Ahmadinejad of Iran. Her appearance was canceled by rally organizers who sought a nonpolitical event. Following are the remarks Mrs. Palin would have given:

***

I am honored to be with you and with leaders from across this great country — leaders from different faiths and political parties united in a single voice of outrage.

Tomorrow, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad will come to New York — to the heart of what he calls the Great Satan — and speak freely in this, a country whose demise he has called for.

Ahmadinejad may choose his words carefully, but underneath all of the rhetoric is an agenda that threatens all who seek a safer and freer world. We gather here today to highlight the Iranian dictator's intentions and to call for action to thwart him.

He must be stopped.

The world must awake to the threat this man poses to all of us. Ahmadinejad denies that the Holocaust ever took place. He dreams of being an agent in a "Final Solution" — the elimination of the Jewish people. He has called Israel a "stinking corpse" that is "on its way to annihilation." Such talk cannot be dismissed as the ravings of a madman — not when Iran just this summer tested long-range Shahab-3 missiles capable of striking Tel Aviv, not when the Iranian nuclear program is nearing completion, and not when Iran sponsors terrorists that threaten and kill innocent people around the world.

The Iranian government wants nuclear weapons. The International Atomic Energy Agency reports that Iran is running at least 3,800 centrifuges and that its uranium enrichment capacity is rapidly improving. According to news reports, U.S. intelligence agencies believe the Iranians may have enough nuclear material to produce a bomb within a year.

The world has condemned these activities. The United Nations Security Council has demanded that Iran suspend its illegal nuclear enrichment activities. It has levied three rounds of sanctions. How has Ahmadinejad responded? With the declaration that the "Iranian nation would not retreat one iota" from its nuclear program.

So, what should we do about this growing threat? First, we must succeed in Iraq. If we fail there, it will jeopardize the democracy the Iraqis have worked so hard to build, and empower the extremists in neighboring Iran. Iran has armed and trained terrorists who have killed our soldiers in Iraq, and it is Iran that would benefit from an American defeat in Iraq.

If we retreat without leaving a stable Iraq, Iran's nuclear ambitions will be bolstered. If Iran acquires nuclear weapons — they could share them tomorrow with the terrorists they finance, arm, and train today. Iranian nuclear weapons would set off a dangerous regional nuclear arms race that would make all of us less safe.

But Iran is not only a regional threat; it threatens the entire world. It is the no. 1 state sponsor of terrorism. It sponsors the world's most vicious terrorist groups, Hamas and Hezbollah. Together, Iran and its terrorists are responsible for the deaths of Americans in Lebanon in the 1980s, in Saudi Arabia in the 1990s, and in Iraq today. They have murdered Iraqis, Lebanese, Palestinians, and other Muslims who have resisted Iran's desire to dominate the region. They have persecuted countless people simply because they are Jewish.

Iran is responsible for attacks not only on Israelis, but on Jews living as far away as Argentina. Anti-Semitism and Holocaust denial are part of Iran's official ideology and murder is part of its official policy. Not even Iranian citizens are safe from their government's threat to those who want to live, work, and worship in peace. Politically-motivated abductions, torture, death by stoning, flogging, and amputations are just some of its state-sanctioned punishments.

It is said that the measure of a country is the treatment of its most vulnerable citizens. By that standard, the Iranian government is both oppressive and barbaric. Under Ahmadinejad's rule, Iranian women are some of the most vulnerable citizens.

If an Iranian woman shows too much hair in public, she risks being beaten or killed.

If she walks down a public street in clothing that violates the state dress code, she could be arrested.

But in the face of this harsh regime, the Iranian women have shown courage. Despite threats to their lives and their families, Iranian women have sought better treatment through the "One Million Signatures Campaign Demanding Changes to Discriminatory Laws." The authorities have reacted with predictable barbarism. Last year, women's rights activist Delaram Ali was sentenced to 20 lashes and 10 months in prison for committing the crime of "propaganda against the system." After international protests, the judiciary reduced her sentence to "only" 10 lashes and 36 months in prison and then temporarily suspended her sentence. She still faces the threat of imprisonment.

Earlier this year, Senator Clinton said that "Iran is seeking nuclear weapons, and the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps is in the forefront of that" effort. Senator Clinton argued that part of our response must include stronger sanctions, including the designation of the IRGC as a terrorist organization. John McCain and I could not agree more.

Senator Clinton understands the nature of this threat and what we must do to confront it. This is an issue that should unite all Americans. Iran should not be allowed to acquire nuclear weapons. Period. And in a single voice, we must be loud enough for the whole world to hear: Stop Iran!

Only by working together, across national, religious, and political differences, can we alter this regime's dangerous behavior. Iran has many vulnerabilities, including a regime weakened by sanctions and a population eager to embrace opportunities with the West. We must increase economic pressure to change Iran's behavior.

Tomorrow, Ahmadinejad will come to New York. On our soil, he will exercise the right of freedom of speech — a right he denies his own people. He will share his hateful agenda with the world. Our task is to focus the world on what can be done to stop him.

We must rally the world to press for truly tough sanctions at the U.N. or with our allies if Iran's allies continue to block action in the U.N. We must start with restrictions on Iran's refined petroleum imports.

We must reduce our dependency on foreign oil to weaken Iran's economic influence.

We must target the regime's assets abroad; bank accounts, investments, and trading partners.

President Ahmadinejad should be held accountable for inciting genocide, a crime under international law.

We must sanction Iran's Central Bank and the Revolutionary Guard Corps — which no one should doubt is a terrorist organization.

Together, we can stop Iran's nuclear program.

Senator McCain has made a solemn commitment that I strongly endorse: Never again will we risk another Holocaust. And this is not a wish, a request, or a plea to Israel's enemies. This is a promise that the United States and Israel will honor, against any enemy who cares to test us. It is John McCain's promise and it is my promise.

Thank you.

WOMEN UNITED INVITE PALIN TO 9/25 RALLY

This is real sickness. Unimaginable. These pathetic women and "religious leaders" should be forced forced to bury the numerous bodies of those publicly hanged in Iran.
The promise of a second holocaust of the Jews seems to titillate these souless fools.
The American Friends Service Committee, Mennonite Central Committee, Quaker United Nations Office, Religions for Peace, World Council of Churches – United Nations Liaison Office are having an Iftar – a dinner to break the Ramadan fast—with "religious leaders" and AHMADINEJAD next week, THURSDAY, SEPT. 25 at 6pm in New York. The invitation is below.
We need to mobilize other religious leaders to counter the Ahmadinejad lovefest because it is very important that religion not be hijacked and that Israel and the U.S. be defended from Ahmadinejad's regime.
There will be a demonstration against this abomination from 5.30 on.
We will be broadcasting into Iran as well. Be there!
The rally I am attending has invited Palin to THIS RALLY ON THURSDAY 9/25!(it starts at 5:30 pm)
Women United has extended an invitation Governor Sarah Palin, among others, to address a press conference and rally to "Stop Ahmadinejad", taking place in front of the Grand Hyatt Hotel in New York City on Thursday, September 25th protesting a meeting being held at the hotel between Iran's President Ahmadinejad and various organizations wishing to open up with him a dialogue and who appear thereby to be providing tacit legitimacy to the Iranian president's policies.

Palin Blames Dems for Withdrawn Rally Invitation

BLAINE, Minn. — Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin told supporters Friday that "Democrat partisans" had pressured organizers of an anti-Iran rally in New York next week to withdraw an invitation for her to appear.

"This should be an issue that unites all Americans. Iran should not be allowed to acquire nuclear weapons, period," Palin said at a rally here. "Unfortunately, some Democrat partisans put politics first and now no elected official can appear. This should not be a matter of partisan politics."

Palin had been set to attend the rally protesting Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad organized by major Jewish organizations and sponsored by the National Coalition to Stop Iran Now. New York Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton also had been scheduled to appear at the rally, but canceled after learning Palin would be there, too.

The former first lady, who suspended her own presidential bid in June, has sought to avoid any appearance with Palin, who has emerged as the new female star of the 2008 campaign.

On Thursday, organizers announced that they had withdrawn their invitation for Palin to attend, saying they did not want the event to be overtly political. GOP hopeful John McCain criticized the move in a statement to reporters Thursday, suggesting Obama backers pressed for Palin to be disinvited.

An Obama campaign spokesman batted away the suggestion, saying they had planned to send a representative to attend the rally.

Palin told the rally she and McCain were steadfast in their intention to prevent Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons.

"John McCain and I are committed to drawing attention to the dangers posed by Iran's nuclear program," she said, "and we will not waver in our commitment. I will continue to call for sustained action to prevent Iranian president Ahmadinejad from getting these weapons to launch a second Holocaust."

DEMOCRAT JEWICIDALS FIGHT TO DISINVITE PALIN TO ANTI-AHMADINEJAD RALLY UPDATE: PALIN DISINVITED, KAPOS WIN!

By Pamela Geller

IF SARAH IS NOT WELCOME, NEITHER AM I. I AM NOT ATTENDING. BUT I STRONGLY SUPPORT THIS RALLY ON THURSDAY 9/25!

UPDATE: BIDEN TOLD ISRAEL: Joe Biden, told "senior Israeli officials behind closed doors that the Jewish state will have to reconcile itself to a nuclear Iran."

UPDATE12:15pm: HERE'S THE SHOW (thanks Michael!) Download Sept_18_Show.mp3

UPDATE 10:40pm: I'll be discussing this act of Jewish dhimmitude and submission on my radio sh0w tonight at 11pm on KFNX (listen here).

UPDATE 7:20 PM: Biden’s Refusal to Appear At Iran Protest Caused the Disinvitation
of Palin

UPDATE 7 pm: The real question is all this, why didn''t Obama send anyone to represent him at the Anti-Ahmadinejad rally? WHY IS NO ONE THERE FOR OBAMA? Did he not want to piss off the Hitler wannabee? Is he pandering to his widespread support in the Muslim world or his 22% lead over McCain among Muslim Americans?

UPDATE 4:20pm: PALIN UNINVITED! CALL! CALL! CALL! CALL! This is an outrage! Ahamdinejad said AGAIN today that Israel would not survive in any form. Palinflag_2red

Speaking to reporters at a press conference ahead of his visit to New York, Ahmadinejad also repeated previous anti-Israel comments, calling the Holocaust by Nazi Germany a "fake."

The Iranian President stated that the Jewish state wouldn't survive in any form.

He smirked at a former mantra of the Israeli right of a "Greater" Israel that would include occupied Palestinian territories, saying that while "some say the idea of Greater Israel has expired, I say the idea of a Lesser Israel has expired, too."(more here)

Who do these Jewish organizations represent? They exist for one reason and one reason only, to fight for the survival of the Jewish people. The rest is window dressing. How dare they. I AM LIVID. I am on the phones now. Do the same and withdraw your pledges for these orgs.

*********************************************************************************

David wrote to tell me, those debased leftard Jews (they will be the death of us all) over at the the DNC are calling in their markers and leaning very hard on Monday's Anti-Iran Rally organizers and sympathetic local rabbis to dis-invite Alaska Governor Sarah Palin from speaking at the event. The reason: her presence makes it a "partisan" event. One Northern NJ rabbi (who will remain anonymous) is really stinking it up with the Jewish Press. Look for an article about it very soon.

The bottom line is Hillary canceled her appearance at the anti-Ahmadinejad rally. She made the decision not to appear, she made it a partisan issue. Perhaps it was deliberate to try to force the organizers to cancel Palin ()Hillary Clinton Pulls Out of Pro-Israel Rally After Learning Sarah Palin will be there (US NEWS WORLD REPORT ...

What was Hillary doing? Clinton is more concerned with partisanship than with the danger Iran poses, and she has destroyed the united front against Ahmadinejad.

Palin's appearance is a gift to the Jews. I WISH TO UNEQUICVOCALLY STATE THAT IT WOULD BE POLITICAL SUICIDE TO UNIVITE PALIN and we will not take it sitting down. I will urge every Jew to stop donating to these orgs of they uninivite Palin. Dear G-d, we need all the friends we can get. Lord knows how close we are to electing a president aligned with the jihad (BHO).

These leftartd Jews are reminiscent of the American Jews during World War II like Stephen Wise that were complicit in their silence about the holocaust. Fuck that! Never again and these Jewicidals will not be tolerated. The fact is for the first time in recent history JEWISH NEW YORKERS are leaning right.

Evidence That Jewish Vote is Shifting to McCain (yid with lid)

Yesterday a Poll from Sienna College was released showing that McCain was gaining on Obama in NY State. The most astounding part of the Poll was the Jewish Vote that represents about 12% of the total in NY is supporting McCain by a 54% to 32% margin. This is a MAJOR shift that if duplicated nationally can help move Key states including NJ and Pennsylvania to the McCain corner.

A Race Against Death: Peter Bergson, America and the HolocaustDavid S. Wyman and Rafael Medoff.

This is a chilling account of U.S. indifference to the plight of European Jews during WWII, of how government officials not only failed to act but thwarted the efforts of those who tried.Ê Had Peter Bergson, representing Ze'ev Jabotinsky's Revisionist Zionists in America, received government support for his plans to rescue Hitler's Jewish victims, many more might have been saved and his name might have been as well known as those of Oskar Schindler and Raoul Wallenberg.

But as Wyman (The Abandonment of the Jews) and Medoff (The Deafening Silence: American Jewish Leaders and the Holocaust) make clear in this simple but potent volume, Bergson's dogged efforts--advertisements in the New York Times, lobbying in Washington, a star-studded pageant called "We Will Never Die" that toured the country--were crippled in large part not only by Roosevelt's administration but by the leaders of the established American Jewish community.

Yid with lid is blogging this too

More from the poison Hitler dwarf:

Earlier on Thursday, the Iranian president downplayed the possibility of an IAF strike against Iran.

"Israel is in a weak position to launch attacks against any other country," he was quoted by Press TV as saying.

UPDATE: From Dan Freidman,

The organizers of the anti-Iran rally near the UN on Monday have decided not to allow Sarah Palin to speak. The Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations, the direct descendants of the court Jews who opted to protect their seats at court during the Holocaust rather than extend themselves one inch to save European Jewry - and instead actively opposed rescue efforts by other Jewish Americans - are still in the same cowardly, cringing mode. And if you go down the list, they are almost without exception liberal Democrats who support Obama. Little wonder that a Democrat who embraced Suha Arafat is kosher but a powerful Republican ally of Israel, and the next Vice President of the United States, is treif.

Under the circumstances, attending their event on Monday amounts to tacit approval of the Conference's leftwing bias and congenital timidity. Make your own decision, but I won't allow myself to be duped that way.

UPDATE:MCCAIN'S STATEMENT ON THE DISINVITE:

Throughout my political career, I have sought to rise above partisanship on critical national issues. Nowhere is this more true than on important matters of national security. Earlier this year, Senator Clinton, Senator Obama and I issued a joint statement on the genocide in Darfur and pledged to support efforts to bring it to an end. Earlier this month, Senator Obama and I put the campaign aside to commemorate the seventh anniversary of the 9/11 attacks on our country and talk about the importance of national service.

Next Monday, the day before Iranian President Ahmadinejad is to speak before the United Nations General Assembly, several organizations will sponsor an event to draw attention to the importance of halting Iran’s efforts to acquire nuclear weapons. Governor Palin and I share a strong belief that a nuclear armed Iran poses a grave threat to the security of Americans and to our allies. Iran is the world’s leading state sponsor of terrorism. The risk that Iran would provide terrorists with a nuclear weapon is too great for the world to ignore. Iranian President Ahmadinejad has denied the Holocaust occurred and called Israel a ’stinking corpse.’ A nuclear-armed Iran would destabilize the entire region.

Preventing Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons should be a shared goal of every American, not another occasion for partisan posturing.

Governor Palin was pleased to accept an invitation to address this rally and show her resolve on this grave national security issue, regrettably that invitation has since been withdrawn under pressure from Democratic partisans. We stand shoulder to shoulder with Republicans, Democrats and independents alike to oppose Ahmadinejad’s goal of a nuclear armed Iran. Senator Obama’s campaign had the opportunity to join us. Senator Obama chose politics rather than the national interest.
